On Sunday, 2015 safety Omari Stringer named his top four schools. The schools in Stringer’s top four are the Illinois Fighting Illini, Indiana Hoosiers, Minnesota Golden Gophers, and Wisconsin Badgers.
There should be no surprise that Wisconsin and Minnesota are in Stringer’s top four list. A month ago, the recruiting experts were predicting Missouri to be the team to land the Crete-Monee safety, but now they are beginning to predict Wisconsin and Minnesota.
Stringer even has unofficial visits scheduled at Wisconsin (June 15th) and Minnesota (June 14th).
On the football field, Omari Stringer is a overall good football player. He can defend against both the pass and the run, and he can play on special teams as well.
With his speed and instincts, the Crete-Monee safety would be a quality pickup for Tim Beckman and company. In a defense that is obviously the worst part of the Illini squad, Stringer could step in and be a boost for Beckman.
Even as a freshman, he would be able to play in nickel and dine packages for Illinois while contributing on either side of the special teams squad.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 24th in the state of Illinois, 70th among safeties, and 976th nationally among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
