Today, the Illinois Fighting Illini will play host to 2016 in-state power forward Nick Rakocevic.

Rakocevic currently holds six total offers from Illinois, Wisconsin, Creighton, Indiana, Miami (FL), and Northern Illinois.

The Westchester, Illinois native is heavily interested in the Illinois Fighting Illini, Wisconsin Badgers, and Duke Blue Devils.

Right now, the 247Sports Crystal Ball has Nick Rakocevic playing his college career in Champaign with the Fighting Illini.

The majority (50%) of the experts predict the Fighting Illini to land the 2016 recruit while 33% of the experts predict Duke to end up landing him (17% listed as “other”).

At this point, John Groce and the Fighting Illini have three open scholarships for the 2016 recruiting class.

Rakocevic is one of four 2016 recruits that Illinois is heavily targeting to fill those openings. Along with Rakocevic, Coach Groce is targeting point guards Jamal Murray and Jermaine Haley, and shooting guard Jayson Tatum.

According to 247Sports, Nick Rakocevic had this to say about today’s unoffical visit:

“Definitely want to see the campus, the arena and the practice facility. Also want to see what type of coach (Groce) is and see the way he interacts with his players.”

Rakocevic would be a quality pickup for the Fighting Illini. Per 247Sports, “he is already earning the reputation as the best prospect in Illinois for the 2016 class.”
