Today, the Illinois Fighting Illini played host to one of the Top 25 Tennessee recruits from the 2015 recruiting class in running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn.
Vaughn currently holds ten total offers from Illinois, East Carolina, Kentucky, Louisville, Arkansas State, Austin Peay, California, Memphis, Mercer, and Purdue.
Per 247Sports, Vaughn is heavily interested in the East Carolina Pirates, Illinois Fighting Illini, Kentucky Wildcats, and Louisville Cardinals.
At 5’10”, 210 pounds, Vaughn demonstrates a great frame for the running back position.
He contains good speed and power, but his biggest strengths are his ability to break tackles and his overall vision as a ball carrier.
Yes, Ke’Shawn Vuaghn needs to fine tune some parts to his game at the college level.
However, there’s no questioning his ability to be a very well-rounded back.
It will be interesting to see how Tim Beckman and company decide to pursue Vaughn after former USC running back and Illinois native Ty Issac picked Michigan over the Illini.
Illinois already has two running back commitments from the 2015 recruiting class as Dre Brown committed on March 7th and Reggie Corbin committed on May 27th.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 21st in the state of Tennessee, 54th among running backs, and 694th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
