On Sunday, the Illinois Fighting Illini extended an offer to 2015 running back Tirone Young. Young is ranked as one of the Top 25 ’15 recruits from the state of Indiana.
Illinois is the first team to extend an offer towards the Indianapolis, Indiana native.
Tirone Young shows great speed at the running back position, and he uses that speed effectively to explode through holes in the offensive line to gain big yards down the field.
Young looks like a back that would work well in Bill Cubit’s offensive system. At 5’10”, 190 pounds, the young 2015 running back displays similar size and frame to Illinois’ own Josh Ferguson.
The Fighting Illini already have a running back commit from the 2015 recruiting class in Reggie Corbin. This could play into Young’s decision on whether or not to commit to the Illini.
Another factor that could affect Tirone Young’s decision is Ty Issac. After visiting Illinois last week, Issac is currently paying a visit to Michigan.
If Issac transfer to Illinois, the Fighting Illini will have six running backs on their roster. That fact could affect Young’s decision on if Illinois is the right place for his future football career.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 22nd in the state of Indiana, 121st among running backs, and 1,435th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
