On Saturday, Tim Beckman and company received some much needed good news as 2015 offensive tackle Adam Solomon gave his verbal commitment to the Illinois Fighting Illini.
Illinois was able to gain Solomon’s commitment over ten other schools which included Big Ten foes Indiana, Minnesota, and Purdue.
It should come as no surprise to Illini Nation that Solomon decided to play for Tim Beckman because 100% of the recruiting experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball predicted the Indianapolis, Indiana native to commit to the Orange & Blue.
When asked about what he most liked about Illinois, the 2015 offensive tackle told 247Sports:
“Illinois is a special place…I feel that it’s the perfect fit.”
Solomon is the fifth commitment for Tim Beckman and company and is the second offensive tackle commitment behind Gabe Megginson.
By looking at the offensive tackles that Illinois has been targeting in the 2015 recruiting class, it’s clear that Beckman is looking to add beef to the O-line.
Most of the offensive linemen to be targeted by the Fighting Illini have been 6’5″+ and 275+ pounds.
Adam Solomon fits that profile by standing tall at 6’6″, and weighing 290 pounds.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 11th in the state of Indiana, 79th among offensive tackles, and 724th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
