Illinois Fighting Illini Football Recruiting: Illinois Extends Offer Towards Mirko Jurkovic

On Monday, Tim Beckman and company extended an offer to 2015 offensive guard Mirko Jurkovic. Jurkovic is a South Bend, Indiana native, but goes to school at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Illinois is just the thirteenth team and second Big Ten team to offer at Jurkovic. So far, the IMG Academy OG has offers from Illinois, Arkansas, Missouri, Purdue, South Carolina, Cincinnati, Connecticut, FIU, Kansas, Marshall, Syracuse, Toledo, and Western Michigan.

Per 247Sports, Mirko Jurkovic is heavily interested in Arkansas, Missouri, Purdue, and South Carolina.

The majority of the experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball predict that Jurkovic will play his college ball closer to home and give his verbal commitment to the Purdue Boilermakers.

One thing is clear when it comes to the offensive linemen that the Fighting Illini have offered at as of late. That is that Tim Beckman and company are looking to add beef to their O-line.

The past few offensive linemen to receive offers from Illinois have been 6’5″+ and 275+pounds. Mirko Jurkovic definitely fits that mold as he stands at 6’5″, 275 pounds.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 117th in the state of Florida, 66th among offensive guards, and 939th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
