On Tuesday, Tim Beckman and company extended an offer to 2015 tight end Jake Bargas. Bargas is ranked as one of the Top 50 TEs from the 2015 recruiting class.
Illinois is just the sixteenth team and first Big Ten team to offer at Bargas. So far, the Boca Raton tight end has offers from Illinois, Duke, Boston College, Cincinnati, Colgate, Florida Atlantic, Kentucky, Louisville, Massachusetts, South Alabama, South Florida, Temple, Tulane, UCF, Wake Forest, and Western Kentucky.
Per 247Sports, the Duke Blue Devils are listed as Jake Bargas’ early favorite at this point in time.
All six of the experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball predict that Bargas will give his verbal commitment to the Blue Devils.
At 6’4″, 225 pounds, Jake Bargas is a big body on the football field. In the receiving game as a TE, he uses that big body well especially over the middle of the field.
Bargas is a very effective route runner. He can run in routes, out routes, slants, fly routes, and much more. He’d be a quality pick up for Tim Beckman and the Illini (if he doesn’t commit to the Dukies).
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 163rd in the state of Florida, 36th among tight ends, and 1,171st among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
