Illinois Fighting Illini Football Recruiting: Desmond Cain Receives Offer From Illini

On Tuesday, Tim Beckman and company extended an offer to 2015 cornerback Desmond Cain. Cain is ranked as one of the Top 100 CBs from the 2015 recruiting class.

Illinois is just the ninth team and second Big Ten team to offer at Cain. So far, the American Heritage cornerback has offers from Illinois, Cincinnati, South Carolina, Bowling Green, Rutgers, SMU, South Florida, Temple, and Virginia.

Per 247Sports, Desmond Cain is heavily interested in the Cincinnati Bearcats and South Carolina Gamecocks.

Right now, the 247Sports Crystal Ball has the Delray Beach, Florida native going to the SEC for his college career. Both of the predictions on the Crystal Ball say he will give hi verbal commitment to South Carolina.

Over these past few week, Tim Beckman and the Illini have been extending offers to high quality recruits who are heavily interested in other college teams.

Bottom line, if Illinois will want Cain’s commitment, they will need to win more games. It’s just that simple.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 115th in the state of Florida, 73rd among cornerbacks, and 915th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
