It’s official! We now know the game time for Illinois’ 104th Homecoming game against Minnesota.
However, Illini fans who were hoping for a late afternoon game are shaking their heads after looking at the game time for this year’s homecoming game.
That’s because the Big Ten announced that Illinois’ Homecoming matchup with Minnesota on October 25th will begin at 11 a.m. (CST).
This year will mark the 104th Homecoming at the University of Illinois. The Fighting Illini are 44-57-2 all-time on Homecoming, dating back to 1910, a 3-0 win over Chicago. The University of Illinois boasts being one of the first universities to celebrate Homecoming, a tradition on almost every college campus. It was conceived in 1909 by students C.F. Williams and W. Elmer Ekblaw, members of the Shield and Trident senior society. They joined with another society, Phoenix, to organize the three-day event.
