With Round Three of the Players Championship around six hours away, former Illini golfer Steve Stricker is three under par and tied at 25th entering play for Saturday.
Stricker shot just two under par in Round Two after shooting just one under par in Round One. He was able to move up 23 spots to 25th overall with his play in Round Two on Friday.
If he is able to finish the tournament in the Top 25, it would be Stricker’s 189th Top 25 finish in his 24 year career.
Another former Illini golfer playing in the Players Championship this weekend is Scott Langley.
After shooting an even par on Friday, Langley is just one under par and sits on 52nd overall entering Saturday’s 3rd Round.
Langley will tee off on Saturday at 9:55 a.m. (EST) and will be paired with John Merrick. Stricker will tee off at 12:05 p.m. (EST) and will be paired with 2014 Master’s winner Bubba Watson.
