Illinois Fighting Illini Football Reruiting: Illini Extend Offer Towards Joshua Jones

On Friday, Tim Beckman and company extended an offer to 2015 offensive tackle Joshua Jones. Jones is ranked as one of the Top 150 OTs from the 2015 recruiting class.

Illinois is just the fifth team and first Big Ten team to offer at Jones. So far, the Richmond offensive tackle has offers from Illinois, Houston, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, and Texas Tech.

A team that has not offered at the Texas native, but seems to be a favorite among recruiting experts when it comes to Joshua Jones is Texas A&M.

All five of the experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball predict that Jones will give his verbal commitment to the Aggies.

At 6’5″, 272 pounds, Joshua Jones displays good size and a great frame for an offensive tackle. Besides from those to traits, the Texas lineman is pretty average and will need development at the college level to be something special.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 157th in the state of Texas, 113th among offensive tackles, and 1,166th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
