The Illinois Fighting Illini continue to work hard on their 2015 recruiting class by targeting some of the top talent from across the country. This time, they did so by extending an offer to running back Ray-Ray McCloud III. McCloud III is one of the Top 50 recruits from the state of Florida.
Illinois is the 32nd team and eighth Big Ten team to offer at the Tampa, Florida native.
Per 247Sports, McCloud III is heavily interested in the Clemson Tigers and Florida Gators.
However, the 247Sports Crystal Ball has four teams predicted to land the Florida running back. The four teams are Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, and Norte Dame. The majority of the recruiting experts are picking the Gators to get his commitment at this point in time.
Ray-Ray McCloud III is a dynamic running back. As a two year starter at Sickles HS, he has recorded a 3,635 rushing yards on 462 carries with 38 rushing touchdowns. He’s also caught fifteen passes for 214 yards and one touchdown.
McCloud III would be a huge steal for Tim Beckman and company. However, chances are pretty low of that happening at this point in time.
Illinois will need to AT LEAST make a bowl game if they want a chance to land this recruit.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 30th in the state of Florida, 16th among athletes, and 210th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
