Illini in the NBA: Deron Williams and Nets Take Game Three Against Heat, 104-90

On Saturday evening, former Illini guard Deron Williams and the Brooklyn Nets took over and won game three against the Miami Heat, 104-90.

Williams played 40 minutes in the game where he scored nine points, made 3-of-11 from the field, hit 1-of-2 from three, hauled in three rebounds, and dished out eleven assists.

The Nets completely blew the roof off the gym from beyond the arc as they hit 15-of-25 threes for a 60% night.

Although they lost, Miami’s Big 3 played well. LeBron James scored a team-high 28 points while Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh scored 20 and 12 points respectively.

This is not only the first win of the series for the Nets, but it is also the first loss of the entire playoffs for the Heat.

Both teams will get an off day on Sunday before resuming the series on Monday night with game four in Brooklyn.
