On Sunday afternoon, former Illini guard Deron Williams and the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Toronto Raptors, 104-103, in Game 7 of their first round series of the NBA Playoffs.
Williams played 32 minutes in the game where he scored 13 points, made 7-of-10 from the foul line, and dished out four assists. However, it would be his defense that would help the Nets beat the Raptors on Sunday.
With just over 8 seconds left in the game, Toronto had the basketball down one with a chance to win the game. It was Williams and company who provided a tough defensive front against Kyle Lowry to give Brooklyn the win.
It was a pretty good series for Deron Williams as a whole. Against the Raptors, Williams averaged 15.8 points per game, 6.2 assists per game, 1.8 steals per game, and shot 43.9% from the field.
Brooklyn will get a night off on Monday before they begin their semifinal series against the #2 Miami Heat on Tuesday night.
