Illinois Fighting Illini Football Recruiting: Western Michigan Commit Caleb Reams Visits Illinois

On Saturday, the Illinois Fighting Illini played host to numerous football recruits from both the 2015 and 2016 recruiting classes. One of those recruits was 2015 tight end Caleb Reams.

Reams is currently a commit of the Western Michigan Broncos, but obviously still is showing interest in the Fighting Illini.

Tim Beckman hasn’t sent an offer towards the Gurnee native. However, it might be safe to predict that the in-state tight end might change his commitment if extended an offer by Illinois.

Reams doesn’t contain the best size or frame among other tight ends in the Class of 2015. He makes up for his size/frame with his great athleticism, hands, and mismatch ability.

It will be interesting to see if Tim Beckman and company decide to extend Caleb Reams an offer. If there’s anybody that would be able to flip the Warren Township TE over to the Illini from WMU, it’d be former WMU OC and current Illinois OC Bill Cubit.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 26th in the state of Illinois, 43rd among tight ends, and 1,300th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
