Illinois Fighting Illini Football Recruiting: David Edwards Unofficially Visits Illinois

On Saturday, the Illinois Fighting Illini played host to numerous football recruits from both the 2015 and 2016 recruiting classes. One of those recruits was 2015 pro-style quarterback/athlete David Edwards.

Edwards currently holds a total of five offers at this point in time. Those teams include: Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Syracuse.

Per 247Sports, the Downers Grove native is the most interested in Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

Right now, the 247Sports Crystal Ball doesn’t have David Edwards leaving the state of Illinois. Six of the eleven experts are predicting the Downers Grove athlete to give his verbal to the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Although being listed as a pro-style quarterback, it’d be better to describe Edwards as more of a dual-threat quarterback. This is because he can both throw and run with the ball very effectively.

Also, David Edwards’ size is displayed in his film from his junior season. At 6’6″, the 2015 quarterback looks like a “man among boys.”

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 5th in the state of Illinois, 24th among athletes, and 290th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
