After being in Minnesota on Tuesday for recruiting visits, Illinois’ outside linebacker coach Al Seamonson traveled to Two Rivers, Wisconsin for a visit with 2015 offensive tackle Jordan Steckler.
Thus far, no teams have offered at the 2015 offensive tackle. However, Steckler is receiving some interest from several programs.
Besides from Illinois, he has gained interest from Air Force, Ball State, Central Michigan, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Purdue, and Wisconsin.
One thing should be made crystal clear based off of Seamonson’s last two recruiting visits. The Illinois Fighting Illini want to add some serious size to their offensive line.
On Tuesday, Seamonson visited with Minnesota native Bronson Dovich (6’6″, 285 pounds). On Wednesday, he visited Jordan Steckler who is 6’5″, 293 pounds.
Although he is listed as an offensive tackle, Jordan Steckler played at the right guard position in 2013 for Two Rivers High School.
He’s big and strong and can block in both passing and rushing situations. However, his biggest positive after watching his film has to be his ability to get to the next level of the defense.
Steckler is the type of guard that is always looking down the field to make blocks. He moves quickly to the second level of the defense in order to give him running back the chance to break off a big play.
