Illinois Fighting Illini Football Recruiting: Illinois Extends Offer To Clayton Johnston

On Monday, Tim Beckman and company extended an offer to 2015 offensive tackle Clayton Johnson. Johnson is one of the Top 100 recruits from the state of California.

Illinois is just the seventh team and first Big Ten team to offer at Johnson. So far, the Anaheim native has offers from Illinois, Arizona, Utah, California, San Diego State, Wake Forest, and Washington State.

At 6’6″, 270 pounds, it’s clear that Clayton Johnson has the size to play the offensive tackle position. It looks as if Tim Beckman and company are looking to add some serious size on the offensive line.

The biggest positive seen in Johnson’s game is his overall strength. No matter who he faced, it seems like Clayton Johnson had his way with opposing defenders. That;s one thing Time Beckman had to of noticed just by watching Johnson’s highlight reel.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 93rd in the state of California, 93rd among offensive tackles, and 909th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
