Illinois Fighting Illini Basketball: Expectations For Year Three Under Coach Groce (Poll)

After an NCAA Tournament bid in his first season in Champaign, John Groce’s Illinois Fighting Illini experienced a shakier season in year two in route to an NIT Tournament bid.

Good thing for Coach Groce is that he will not have to worry about any of his five starters leaving the team. However, he will have five new members to insert into the rotation.

The only departures for the Illini will be that of Jon Ekey and Joseph Bertrand. The additions include: transfers Darius Paul, Ahmad Starks, and Aaron Cosby along with incoming freshman Leron Black and Michael Finke.

Right now, all the questions surrounding the team next year are good one’s to have. The future of the Fighting Illini looks bright, but how bright is the light at the end of the tunnel?

What do you think, Illini Nation? What are your expectations for Illinois next season?
