Illinois Fighting Illini Basketball Recruiting: Ed Morrow Receives Visit From Fighting Illini

Just last week, Coach Groce and Coach Ford made the trip to Chicago in order to visit with four players from Simeon High School, and Illinois’ Paris Parham was at Simeon this past week for the team’s second visit with 2015 small forward Ed Morrow.

Morrow hasn’t receive much attention from the major basketball programs, and still is without an offer from the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Currently, the majority of the recruiting experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball favor Morrow picking the Nebraska Cornhuskers when his recruitment is all said and done.

As described by Derek Piper at Illini247, Morrow “is a highly athletic wing that plays above the rim.” After diving into his game film, that is a perfect description of Ed Morrow.

Yes, Illinois should look for a point guard and big man to round out their 2015 recruiting class of D.J. Williams and Aaron Jordan, but they still cannot completely forget about Morrow.

One player that Illinois needs is one that can take the ball to the rim and do it with authority. That player is Morrow in a nutshell.

Illini fans do not know if Ed Morrow will even receive that offer from Illinois, but it will definitely happen if his teammate and Illini commit D.J. Williams sways over to Georgetown, Tennessee, or Purdue (teams still listed as “cool” on 247Sports Profile).

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 6th in the state of Illinois, 23rd among small forwards, and 111th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
