Just before spring practices began today, the Illinois Fighting Illini continued their hard and early work on the Class of 2015 by extending an offer to athlete Brian Cole on Tuesday. Cole is not only one of the Top Five athletes from the 2015 class, but he is also the best ranked recruit from the state of Michigan.
The Illini are now the eighth program to send an offer toward the young Michigan athlete. Among the eight teams to have offered at him, Cole seems to be heavily interested in Michigan, Michigan State, and Ohio State at this point.
The 247Sports Crystal Ball doesn’t have Brian Cole leaving the state of Michigan. Out of the 19 experts who voted, 74% are predicted him to be a Spartan and 26% are predicting him to be a Wolverine.
Cole plays wide receiver, running back, and cornerback at Heritage High School. On offense, he can be used as a deep threat WR, speed back, or at the quarterback position to run the option.
However, Illinois will probably be recruiting the young athlete to play CB in Champaign. In the defensive backfield, Cole has the speed to go sideline to sideline and can even pack a powerful punch when tackling.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 1st in the state of Michigan, 5th among athletes, and 57th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
