For the first time since 2008, the Illinois Fighting Illini defeated the Missouri Tigers in the Braggin’ Rights game this past weekend.
Illinois was led offensively by Tracy Abrams and Rayvonte Rice. Abrams led the team in scoring with a season-high 22 points while Rice finished second on the team with 14 points.
Jon Ekey also flexed his muscles in this huge rivalry game by hitting a big time three-pointer to give his team a one point lead with under a minutes to go.
After the game, Ekey said:
“It was definitely intense out there. Probably one of the craziest games I’ve ever been a part of.”
The Illini had a ton of great plays in the 65-64 victory over their undefeated opponent, and the Illini Productions team put together a nice music video recapping the biggest plays from this past Saturday (seen below).
Illinois’ next game will be this Saturday against UIC at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
