Bill Cubit: A+

It was announced yesterday that offensive coordinator Bill Cubit received a one-year extension from Illinois that will keep him with the Illini until 2015.

In his first season with Illinois, Cubit completely transformed the Illini offense. The team ranked in the Top 5- nationally when it came to first downs per game (25th), passing yards per game (22nd), scrimmage plays of 20+ yards (37th), and passing efficiency (38th). He also helped senior quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase perform at a high level in route to his best season with the Orange & Blue.

The sky is the limit for the Illinois offense with Bill Cubit at the helm. I can’t wait to see what Cubit can do with Wes Lunt and Aaron Bailey in 2014.
