With the Illinois Fighting Illini having time off before their next game against Missouri, the Illini coaching staff hit the road to visit some recruits and see them in action. On Tuesday, assistant coach Paris Parham traveled to Chicago, Illinois to visit 2015 shooting guard Kain Harris for his game against Bogan High School.
It is very early in Harris’ recruitment, but he has received offers from the Bradley Braves, DePaul Blue Demons, Minnesota Golden Gophers, South Carolina Gamecocks, and West Virginia Mountaineers.
However, some other schools showing interest in the Chicago native are the Creighton Bluejays, Illinois Fighting Illini, Iowa State Cyclones, SMU Mustangs, and Tennessee Volunteers.
Standing at 6’4″, the young Chicago native shows great size on the court and has the strength to finish around the hoop. He can work with the ball or off the ball in other to get his shot at the hoop while showing some range with his jump shot as well. He also has the ability to work well in fast break opportunities.
If Jaylon Tate is any proof, the Fighting Illini need to convince Harris to commit to the Orange & Blue. Everyone across the country knows that some of the best basketball talent comes out of Chicago even if they aren’t a Top 5 recruit like Cliff Alexander.
Kain Harris scored eleven points in the 51-47 loss to Bogan on Tuesday.
