Ohio State Visits Memorial Stadium Looking To Remain Perfect

What started as a promising season for the Illinois Fighting Illini at 3-1 quickly turned into a disaster, as they’ve dropped five straight. Things don’t get any easier for Illinois as undefeated Big Ten rivals Ohio State head to Memorial Stadium this weekend.

While Ohio State football tickets are always a major draw around college football, particularly when they field a phenomenal team in contention for the BCS National Championship, Illinois fans are clearly just not looking forward to seeing their squad potentially get shellacked by 32-point favorite. Ticket prices for this week’s contest have dropped by 16% in the past week, down to an average of $71 dollars. Tickets are currently available to get in as inexpensively as $28 dollars.

Despite tickets for this Big Ten contest checking in at prices well below what is to be expected for this match-up, this week’s average of $71 dollars still represents a 48% premium over the average price for Illinois football tickets at home this season. However, prices are still 52% less expensive than when these two teams met at Ohio State last season, and 30% below the price of when they last met at Illinois back in 2011.

Although Ohio State stands undefeated and ranked 3rd in the country, their cupcake schedule through a down year in the Big Ten has done them no favors. It’s entirely conceivable that the Buckeyes march through their last three games to finish 12-0, if not OSU fan will be scooping up Rose Bowl tickets rather than BCS National Championship tickets. Remember you can also sell tickets for free on TiqIQ.com with Seller Direct.
