Penn State P Alex Butterworth Had “Best” Flop In Victory Over Illinois

On Saturday, the Illinois Fighting Illini lost their 18th straight Big Ten game to the Penn State Nittany Lions. Penn State was able to defeat the Illini after intercepting a Nathan Scheelhaase pass in overtime, but that was not the “best” play of the game on Saturday.

On a 4th and 1 from their own 31 yard line, Penn State punter Alex Butterworth had a flop that would even make Chris Bosh jealous. Butterworth falls to the ground and gives the illusion that Illinois’ Justin Hardee had run in to him. However, upon second look, Hardee doesn’t seem to touch Butterworth at all (he even towards his arms up in the air to avoid contact).

Although the drive did not end with PSU scoring points, this penalty still extended the Nittany Lions’ drive by giving them a new set of downs to work with.

There might be a future outsie of football for Alex Butterworth. If the PSU punter cannot make a name for himself in the NFL, then he might want to go out west and try to make his name famous in good ole Hollywood.
