According to Steve Wiltfong of 247sports.com, Illinois Football has a massive list of recruits hitting campus for the Orange Out versus Wisconsin on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium, but at last check only 1 of the reportedly near 50 will be an official visit.
Madre London of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida is that lone official visitor, and he’s an important one for the Illini.

Check out his 2012 highlight video and see what you think about his skills.
My initial impression after watching the video is that he is a running back that has a skillset very similar to current Illini Josh Ferguson. London appears very smooth catching the football out of the backfield, and clearly Coach Cubit knows how to integrate that type of ability into his offense.
Size wise, London’s video represents him at 6’1″, 205 which slightly edges out Ferguson’s 5’10”, 195 pound frame. The extra size may help him avoid injuries in the rugged Big Ten, as his video also shows that London isn’t afraid to run the ball up inside. Finding this type of versatility is very important for Illinois, and that’s what makes him such a great fit for this team.
At any rate, this isn’t the only Big Ten team knocking on London’s door. He currently has offers from Nebraska, Michigan St., Wisconsin, and Purdue in addition to his offer from Illinois. Further, he has offers from Florida St. and South Carolina. So, Illinois is definitely swimming in the deep end with this recruitment, but it’s players like this that can help bring Illinois up to the next level nationally.
Will having Wes Lunt in the fold pay further dividends with another ultra-talented recruit? Only time will tell, but it’s nice to know that a player of this caliber is taking a serious look into what the Illini have to offer.
One last pair of tweets that should interest you:

Yes, production like that would certainly be welcome at Illinois alongside the rest of the offensive weapons that the Illini are currently amassing, but just to temper fans expectations here is a tweet from the man himself.
Glad I got to see Nebraska coach at my game tonight .

Illinois has their work cut out for them in their quest to secure this young man’s services, but here’s hoping the stadium fills up Saturday night with a rabid Illini fanbase, and the Illini put on an offensive display that shows London just how well he would fit into this system.
