Moments ago around 6:00 p.m. CST, 2014 point guard Quentin Snider gave John Groce yet another big commitment as the Louisville, KY native commitment to the Illinois Fighting Illini on Thursday.
Snider had a ton of quality teams pursuing him since his decommitment from Louisville.
It should come as no surprise to most people that Snider decided to play with coach Groce since his visit to Champaign this past weekend.
22 of the 28 recruiting experts on 247Sports’ Crystal Ball picked the Illini to gain his commitment, and sources were saying that Snider’s father said that his son was going to pick the Fighting Illini.
Snider is an amazing leader on the court and can handle the ball very well.
On top of his ball handling, he can shoot, penetrate the lane, pass, and defend. Snider’s weakest abilities have to be his size and athleticism, but he is still a pretty athletic PG.
Quentin Snider is the third 2014 recruit to commit for the Illini, and joins in-state PF Michael Finke and PF Leron Black in that category.
With the commitment from Snider, Illinois has moved up 42 spots to 6th overall on the 247Sports 2014 Team Rankings.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 2nd in the state of Kentucky, 11th among point guards, and 51st among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
