It looks like the Illinois Fighting Illini are going all out when it comes to 2014 point guard Quentin Snider as head coach John Groce payed a visit to the recruit’s home in Louisville, Kentucky. Snider visited the Illinois campus this weekend, and looks to have a new favorite team in the Fighting Illini via 247Sports.
Snider has received plenty of offers, but is heavily interested in the UCLA Bruins, Connecticut Huskies, Michigan State Spartans, Illinois Fighting Illini, Cincinnati Bearcats, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and USC Trojans.
Going into this weekend’s visit to Illinois, it was listed on 247Sports that the young Kentucky recruit was most interested in UCLA, but now that has switched to the Fighting Illini following coach Groce’s visit.
The Bruins will get their chance to sway Snider over to a UCLA lean again as the team will send assistant coach Ed Schilling to Louisville on Tuesday.
Currently, the majority of the recruiting experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball favor Snider picking Illinois. Out of the 22 experts, 11 of them like the Illini when it comes to Quentin Snider’s recruitment.
Snider is an amazing leader on the court and can handle the ball very well. On top of his ball handling, he can shoot, penetrate the lane, pass, and defend. Snider’s weakest abilities have to be his size and athleticism, but he is still a pretty athletic PG.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 2nd in the state of Kentucky, 11th among point guards, and 51st among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
