The Illinois Fighting Illini were doing more than just beating the Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday as the team hosted a total of ten high school recruits from the Class of 2015.
The ten recruits that made the unofficial visit to Illinois yesterday were WR/TE Miles Boykin, QB Jack Benventi, DT Simon Lane, OT Quinn Oseland, DE Micah Dew-Treadway, RB Tre Brown, LB Bobby McMillen, OT Gabe Megginson, QB Jimmy Fitzgerald, and QB Ramone Atkins.
Among the ten, six have received offers from Illinois with the biggest ones being Miles Boykin, Jimmy Fitzgerald, Micah Dew-Treadway (no Illinois offer), and Jack Benventi.
The reason why they are the most important recruits is not only because they are from the state of Illinois, but they are four of the Top 7 Illinois recruits from the 2015 class.
This was Miles Boykin’s second visit to Illinois since the month of August began, and he is heavily interested in Illinois, Michigan State, and Ohio State (no offer).
It should be interesting to see how the Illini fair when it comes to the recruitments of Jimmy Fitzgerald and Jack Benventi.
Both Fitzgerald and Benventi are pro-style quarterbacks from IL and are ranked in the Top 20 among 2015 QBs.
Fitzgerald is from the Champaign area (Centennial High School) and only has one offer which is from the Fighting Illini. Benventi is from Lisle, IL (Benet Academy) and seems to be heavily interested in the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Illinois did exactly what it needed to do by winning big against Cincinnati on Saturday to impress it’s visiting recruits. If the Illini can keep improving each and every day, you can expect them to get some major attention from 2015 recruits this season.
