The Illinois Fighting Illini took a hit as the team had to kick one of their running back off the team on Tuesday. Head coach Tim Beckman announced today that sophomore running back Dami Ayoola would be kicked off the team for an unspecified violation of team rules.
Yesterday, Beckman did not mention that Ayoola was going to be kicked off the team, but he did say that he was working through “a situation” with the young running back.
Dami Ayoola was one of Tim Beckman’s top recruits from the Class of 2012. When he was being recruited in 2012, Dami Ayoola was a Top 50 running back and a Top 100 recruit from the state of Florida.
Ayoola played in eleven games as a freshman for the Illinois in 2012 and rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries.
He did not play in the Illinois’ 42-34 win over the Southern Illinois Salukis on Saturday.
