Today, the Illinois Fighting Illini and the South Florida Bulls were able to finalize a home-and-home series for the 2017 and 2018 football seasons.
The Illinois Fighting Illini will travel to South Florida to play the Bulls in 2017 while the Bulls will travel to Memorial Stadium in 2018.
In 2016, the Big Ten will be moving to a nine-game conference schedule. Each team will alternate between having five home/four road games and four home/five road games every other year.
The 2017 meeting between Illinois-USF falls on a year when the Illini will have five Big Ten home games and four road games. This means that there is still the possibility that Illinois couls have seven home games in 2017.
Illinois and South Florida have never faced one another in football. The South Florida Bulls are apart of the American Athletic Conference (AAC) after being a member of the Big East Conference for the past eight years.
