Illinois Basketball: Illini/Georgia Tech Game Time Set for Big Ten/ACC Challenge

Today, ESPN announced all the game times for this season’s Big Ten/ACC Challenge presented by DICK’s Sporting Goods. In this year’s challenge, the Illinois Fighting Illini will be playing the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for the second straight season, and will travel to Atlanta to face the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:15 p.m. CT on ESPN2.

This year’s meeting between the Illini and the Yellow Jackets will be their ninth overall meeting. Illinois defeated Georgia Tech last season in Champaign by the score of 75-62. Illinois holds a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series (five straight wins).

The Fighting Illini are 7-7 all-time in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge, with its seven Challenge wins the most by any Big Ten team. The Big Ten won the Challenge for three straight years from 2009-11 and retained the Commissioner’s Cup last season after a 6-6 tie with ACC.
