Illinois Football Recruiting: Aaron Roberts Visits Fighting Illini

Earlier this week, 2014 offensive guard Aaron Roberts made the trip from Chicago to Champaign in order to unofficially visit the Illinois Fighting Illini. Roberts is the 37th best prospect in the state of Illinois and the 64th best offensive guard according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

So far, Roberts has received offers from the Syracuse Orange, Illinois Fighting Illini, Ball State Cardinals, Eastern Illinois Panthers, Indiana State Sycamores, and North Dakota State Bison.

Although the Chicago native is heavily interested in both Syracuse and Illinois, the recruiting experts are predicting the Fighting Illini to land this 2014 recruit. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball currently has them as the 100% predicted spot to land Roberts.

Roberts is a very strong offensive guard off the line of scrimmage and is an effective run blocker. On top of that, he has a very high motor and doesn’t stop pushing opposing defenders back until the very end of the play.

Aaron Roberts might on be one of the Top 250 recruits from the Class of 2014, but he would be a very nice commitment for Tim Beckman and the Fighting Illini.
