During an unofficial visit, 2014 running back Matt Domer decided to give his verbal commitment to the Illinois Fighting Illini on Tuesday. Domer is a three-star recruit and is ranked as one of the Top 30 recruits in the state of Illinois.
The other teams that offered at Domer, but did not get his commitment were the Boston College Eagles, Cincinnati Bearcats, Indiana Hoosiers, Kansas Jayhawks, Northern Illinois Huskies, Syracuse Orange, and Western Michigan Broncos.
Head coach Tim Beckman now has eight commitments from the Class of 2014 and is really looking to stand true to his recruiting philosophy. That is because Domer is the fourth Illinois prospect to commit to their in-state team.
It should be no surprise that the Mount Carmel RB chose to commit to Illinois. This is because the 247 Sports Crystal Ball had the Fighting Illini as the 100% spot to land the Chicago native.
In 2012, Matt Domer ran for 1,370 yards and twenty touchdowns on 155 rushing attempts.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 30th in the state of Illinois and 80th among running backs by 247Sports.
