Former Illinois basketball player Brandon Paul might not have been drafted on Thursday during the 2013 NBA Draft, but that does not mean that teams did not want him.
After going undrafted on Thursday, Paul received a call from the Minnesota Timberwolves about signing with them for the NBA summer league.
BP3 worked out with sixteen NBA teams before the draft and many thought that the Chicago Bulls would select him with the 49th overall pick (worked out with Bulls twice).
According to the Chicago Tribune, when asked about playing with Minnesota this summer, Paul said:
“It’s a great opportunity for me. It will be exciting. I’m looking forward to a chance to show my capabilities. I just want to go out there with something to prove.”
Brandon Paul will need to work hard this summer if he wants to make the Timberwolves’ roster. He will travel to Minnesota next week and then travel with the team to the Summer League in Las Vagas from July 12 to July 22.
