Illinois Football Recruiting: Tre Watson Receives Offer From Fighting Illini

2014 outside linebacker Tre Watson received an offer from the Illinois Fighting Illini on May 24th. Watson has a rating of 74 and is ranked in the Top 100 outside linebackers across the nation.

The Florida native has received offers from the Air Force Falcons, Eastern Michigan Eagles, Furman Paladins, Holy Cross Crusaders, Illinois Fighting Illini, Massachusetts Minutemen, Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders, South Florida Bulls, and Central Florida Knights.

South Florida seems to be a leader for Watson, however, nothing has been announced.

According to 247 Sports, “Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Catholic linebacker Tre Watson is starting to become a regular on the South Florida campus.”

Watson is a 6’2″, 211 pounds linebacker from Tampa, Florida. He is currently finishing up his junior year at Tampa Catholic High School.

The Tampa Catholic Crusaders finished the 2012 regular season with an overall record of 8-4. They made it to the second round of the Class 3A Florida State Playoffs, but lost to Clearwater Central Catholic, 10-7.

The two-star recruit is currently ranked 203rd in the state of Florida and 98th among outside linebackers by 247Sports.
