The Illinois Fighting Illini extended an offer to 2014 weak-side defensive end Henry Famurewa on May 6th. The Fighting Illini were just one of three teams to offer at the 2014 recruit on Monday as Boston College and North Carolina State also extended offers.
Famurewa has an 85 rating on 247 Sports and is the 34th best weak-side defensive end in the country. He is also the 797th best recruit in the 247 Sports Composite rankings.
The three-star Georgia native currently has received offers from the Illinois Fighting Illini, Louisville Cardinals, Boston College Eagles, Eastern Carolina Pirates, and North Carolina State Wolfpack.
Right now, it seems that the Louisville Cardinals are Famurewa’s “clear-cut” favorite. He told 247 Sports this after he attended the Louisville Spring Game. Famurewa is being recruited by Louisville’s linebacker coach, Brian Jean-Mary.
Because Louisville is Famurewa’s favorite, it might take a lot from the Illini if they want to land this recruit. One thing Louisville has over Illinois is recent success. The Cardinals made it to a BCS bowl last season and beat a good Florida team.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 79th in the state of Georgia and 34th among weak-side defensive ends by 247Sports.
