Because of the recent inclement weather to hit the state of Illinois on Tuesday, the Fighting Illini’s baseball game against the Eastern Illinois Panthers was cancelled.
The game was originally scheduled to be played at 6:05 p.m. (CST) and will not be rescheduled.
The Illinois Fighting Illini were coming into Tuesday’s game looking to get back on track. After winning five straight games, they dropped the final two games of their last series against the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Also, senior Justin Parr will need to wait in order to extend his hit streak to 25 games. He is currently riding a 24-game hit streak and can tie the school record (set by Ryan Snowden in 2007) if he gets a hit in his next game.
Illinois will look to get back to Big Ten Conference play against the Northwestern Wildcats.
The Wildcats are currently 17-14 overall and 6-9 in Big Ten Conference play this season. Northwestern had their game against the Northern Illinois Huskies cancelled for Tuesday and will face the Milwaukee Panthers at Miller Park on Wednesday.
