Notre Dame Football Recruiting: Jack Beneventi Visits Illinois

Jack Beneventi may only be a 2015 recruit, but that hasn’t stopped him from getting an early start on the recruitment process. On March 25th, he made the trip to Champaign to unofficially visit the Illinois Fighting Illini (his second visit to Illinois this March).

The 6’6″, 185 pound pro-style quarterback from Benet Academy has received three early offers from the Illinois Fighting Illini, Massachusetts Minutemen, and Western Michigan Broncos. Before he visited the Illini, Beneventi unofficially visited Western Michigan on March 23rd.

Although he has only three offers, Beneventi has received a significant amount of interest from the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Notre Dame hasn’t offered at the young recruit, but has still hosted him numerous times. He has visited the Irish four times since October. Two of those visits were to Soldier Field for the Miami/Notre Dame game and to a bowl practice where he met with head coach Brian Kelly.

He has also received interest from the Michigan State Spartans, Northwestern Wildcats, and Penn State Nittany Lions. This gives him seven interested teams in total with four of them being in the Big Ten.

As a sophomore at Benet Academy, Beneventi recorded 2,318 passing yards and twenty passing touchdowns.
