The Gameday Fix: (7) Illinois Fighting Illini V.S. (2) Miami Hurricanes

Groce said the Illini have also seen a guard similar to Miami leading scorer Shane Larkin during Big Ten conference play. He compared the sophomore’s knack for scoring and making teammates better to Michigan point guard Trey Burke, who was this season’s Big Ten Player of the Year.

 The Daily Illini

Miami is a very well-rounded team, while Illinois relies way too much on its three-point shooting. Being able to hit threes is one thing, but when those shots aren’t going down, then what? Illinois dodged a bullet against Colorado, but the same will not happen against Miami. The Hurricanes are also a good shooting team, so this game very well could be a shootout if both teams are on.

Rant Sports

The Hurricanes have the momentum and fresh legs. Only one player saw more than 30 minutes of action during Friday’s beating of Pacific. They’re also shooting the ball well and involving the entire roster. Miami could be playing its best basketball since winning 14 straight games early in the ACC season.
