Illinois Football Recruiting: Missouri and Vanderbilt Offer Mike Edwards

2014 safety Mike Edwards received offers from the Missouri Tigers and the Vanderbilt Commodores on March 13th. This brings his total number of offers to thirteen.

The other teams to have offered at him include: Kentucky, Akron, Bowling Green, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kent State, Louisville, Nebraska, Toledo, and Western Michigan.

It is projected that he is heavily interested in the Kentucky Wildcats.

Also, he has not received offers, but is receiving interest from the Cincinnati Bearcats, the LSU Tigers, the Michigan Wolverines, the Michigan State Spartans, the Ohio State Buckeyes, the West Virginia Mountaineers, and the Wisconsin Badgers.

Edwards is a 5’11″, 180 pound defensive back from Cincinnati, Ohio. He is currently a junior at Winton Woods High School.

Winton Woods made it to the Division II Ohio State Playoffs. They lost to Trotwood-Madison, 20-27, in the second round.

As a junior in 2012, Edwards recorded 92 tackles, five interceptions, two force fumbles, and three defensive touchdowns (all off interceptions).

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 26th in the state of Ohio and 45th among safeties by 247Sports.
