Illinois Football Recruiting: Michigan State Offers Chris Slayton


2014 weak-side defensive end Chris Slayton received an offer from the Michigan State Spartans on March 13th. This brings his total number of offers to three.

The other two teams to have offered at him are the Toledo Rockets and the Ball State Cardinals.

Although, he has not received an offer, but is receiving interest from the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Slayton is a 6’4″, 235 pound defensive lineman from Crete, Illinois. He is currently a junior at Crete-Monee High School.

The Crete-Monee Warriors won the state championship in the Class 6A Illinois State Playoffs. In the title game, Crete-Monee defeated Cary-Grove, 33-26.

As a junior in 2012, Slayton recorded 61 tackles, nine tackles-for-loss, nine sacks, and three forced fumbles.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 32nd in the state of Illinois and 35th among weak-side defensive ends by 247Sports.
