Illinois Football Recruiting: Michigan State Offers Austin Roberts


2014 wide receiver/tight end Austin Roberts received an offer from the Michigan State Spartans on March 13th during a visit to East Lansing. This brings his total number of offers to fifteen.

The other teams to have offered at him include: Alabama, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, and Stanford.

Also, he has not received offers, but is receiving interest from the Florida State Seminoles, the Georgia Bulldogs, the Michigan Wolverines, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, the Tennessee Volunteers, and the Wisconsin Badgers.

Roberts is a 6’2″, 210 pound receiver from Carmel, Indiana. He is currently a junior at Carmel High School.

The Carmel Greyhounds fell one game short of the Class 5A Indiana State Playoffs. They lost to Warren Central High School, 24-31, in their “play in game.”

As a junior in 2012, Roberts recorded 413 yards on 34 receptions and three touchdowns. He also earned Junior All-State and All-MIC honors in 2012.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 4th in the state of Indiana and 48th among wide receivers by 247Sports.
