Maryland Football Recruiting: Illinois Offers Marcus Allen

2014 safety Marcus Allen received an offer from the Illinois Fighting Illini on March 12th. This brings his total number of offers to seventeen.

The other teams to have offered at him include: Arizona, Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Northwestern, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Old Dominion, San Diego State, Wake Forest, and Vanderbilt.

It is projected that Allen is heavily interested in the Maryland Terrapins and the Pittsburgh Panthers.

Also, he has not received offers, but is receiving interest from Colorado, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia.

Allen is a 6’1″, 180 pound defensive back from Upper Marlboro, Maryland. He is currently a junior at Wise High School.

The Wise Pumas made it into the Class 4A Mayland State Playoffs. The Pumas went all the way to win the championship over Quince Orchard High School, 21-7.

Allen is being recruited Mike Locksley of Maryland, Bobby Engram of Pittsburgh, Larry Johnson of Penn State, Damian Wroblewski of Rutgers, Rich Rodriguez of Arizona, Ben Alberts of Boston College, Mike Reed of Clemson, Jim Knowles of Duke, and Lonnie Galloway of West Virginia.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 7th in the state of Maryland and 23rd among safeties of 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
