Westphal is a 6’0″, 186 pound cornerback from Bolingbrook, Illinois. He is currently a junior at Bolingbrook High School.

Bolingbrook made it to the Class 8A Illinois State Playoffs. They lost to Neuqua Valley, 33-44, in their second round game.

As a junior in 2012, Westphal recorded 51 tackles, four tackles-for-loss, three interceptions, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

For Illinois, Westphal is being recruited by offensive line coach, Luke Butkus. He is also being recruited by Bryant Young of Florida, Lester Erb of Iowa, Jeff Hecklinski of Michigan, Dan Roushar of Michigan State, Chuck Martin of Notre Dame, Mike Vrabel of Ohio State, and Bill Bedenbaugh of West Virginia.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 6th in the state of Illinois, 14th among cornerbacks, and 171st nationally among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
