Illinois Football Recruiting: Derek Kief Visits Northwestern

2014 wide receiver Derek Kief unofficially visited the Northwestern Wildcats on March 7th.

Kief has offers from fifteen teams. The teams to have offered at him include: Alabama, Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Illinois, Indiana, Kent State, Kentucky, Maryland, Northwestern, Ohio State, Toledo, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Out of his fifteen offers, it is projected that he is heavily interested in the Kentucky Wildcats, the Northwestern Wildcats, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Also, he has not received offers, but is receiving interest from the Louisville Cardinals, the Michigan Wolverines, the Pittsburgh Panthers, and the Purdue Boilermakers.

Kief is a 6’5″, 185 pound wide receiver from Cincinnati, Ohio.

He is currently a junior at LaSalle High School.

The LaSalle Lancers finished 4-6 this past season and did not make it to the Ohio State Playoffs.

As a junior this season, Kief recorded 907 receiving yards on 65 receptions and nine receiving touchdowns.

Kief is being recruited by Randy Bates of Northwestern, Zach Smith of Ohio State, and Chris Beatty of Wisconsin.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 4th in the state of Ohio, 14th among wide receivers, and 111th nationally among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
