Indiana Football Recruiting: Nile Sykes Visits Illinois

2014 outside linebacker Niles Sykes unofficially visited the Illinois Fighting Illini on March 2nd.

Sykes has offers from seven teams. The teams to have offered at him include: Illinois, Cincinnati, Indiana, Iowa State, Northern Illinois, Purdue, and Toledo.

Out of his seven offers, it is projected that Sykes is heavily interested in the Illinois Fighting Illini.

Also, he has not received offers, but is receiving interest from the Florida Gators, the Michigan State Spartans, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Wisconsin Badgers.

Sykes is a 6’2″, 220 pound outside linebacker from Oak Park, Illinois.

He is currently a junior at Montini Catholic High School.

Montini Catholic had just a magical season in 2012.

The Broncos won the state championship of the Class 5A Illinois State Playoffs. This state championship became Montini’s fourth straight state championship.

For Illinois, Sykes is being recruiting by linebackers coach, Mike Ward. He is also being recruited by Dan Roushar of Michigan State.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 15th in the state of Illinois and 38th among outside linebackers by 247Sports.
