2014 defensive tackle Ricky Walker received offers from the Illinois Fighting Illini, the Wisconsin Badgers, and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on March 1st and March 4th. This brings his total number of offers to thirteen.
The other teams to have offered at him include: Boston College, North Carolina, Old Dominion, Penn State, Virginia Tech, Connecticut, Louisiana-Lafayette, Maryland, North Carolina State, and Ole Miss.
He has not received offers, but is receiving interest from Cincinnati, Duke, Michigan State, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Walker is a 6’2″, 275 pound defensive tackle from Hampton, Virginia. He is currently a junior at Bethel High School.
The Bethel Bruins made it to the Class 6 Virginia State Playoffs. The #4 Bruins lost to #5 Western Branch High School, 21-23, in the first round.
As a junior in 2012, Walker earned the honor of Peninsula District Defensive Player of the Year.
For Illinois, Walker is being recruited by defensive coordinator, Tim Banks. He is also being recruited by Randy Jordan of the North Carolina Tar Heels, Marc Bacote of the Old Dominion Monarchs, Charles London of the Penn State Nittany Lions, Cornell Brown of the Virginia Tech Hokies, and Lonnie Galloway of the West Virginia Mountaineers.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 13th in the state of Virginia and 18th among defensive tackles by 247Sports.
