Illinois Football Recruiting: Tennessee Offers Poona Ford

2014 defensive tackle Poona Ford received an offer from the Tennessee Volunteers on March 2nd. This brings his total number of offers to fourteen.

The other teams to have offered at him include: the Louisville Cardinals, the Ole Miss Rebels, the South Carolina Gamecocks, the Arizona Wildcats, the Arkansas Razorbacks, the Florida Atlantic Owls, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, the Illinois Fighting Illini, the Kansas State Wildcats, the Marshall Thundering Herd, the Missouri Tigers, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, the Purdue Boilermakers, the Toledo Rockets, and the Utah State Aggies.

It is projected that Ford is heavily interested in the Louisville Cardinals, the Ole Miss Rebels, the South Carolina Gamecocks, and the Tennessee Volunteers.

Ford is a 6’1″, 280 pound defensive tackle from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

He is currently a junior at Hilton Head High School.

The Hilton Head Seahawks made it to the Class AAA South Carolina State Playoff. However, they lost to Strom Thurmond High School in the first round, 62-20.

Poona Ford recorded 154 tackles and 44 tackles for loss during his junior season.

Ford is being recruited by Everette Sands of South Carolina and Steve Stripling of Tennessee.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 9th in the state of South Carolina and 21st among defensive tackles of 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
